This article is designed for HMS Researchers who are leaving Harvard University (for example, a graduating student continuing work with an Off-Quad Lab) or changing Labs (for example, an HMS researcher leaving an On-Quad Lab to join an Off-Quad Lab) and must retain access to their O2 account.
- On-Quad Lab - On-Quad Labs are defined as labs based at Harvard University.
- Labs with a PI that has a primary or secondary faculty appointment in an HMS Basic Science department are considered "On-Quad" (also referred to as "Quad A/B/C").
- Off-Quad Lab - Off-Quad Labs are defined as labs based at HMS affiliated hospitals and institutions.
- Labs with a PI that do not have a primary or secondary faculty appointment in an HMS Basic Science department are considered "Off-Quad" (also referred to as "Quad None").
Step by step
Follow the steps designated for your specific scenario. If you do not fit one of the scenarios described but believe you qualify to keep your O2 account, contact the RC Core team at rccore@hms.harvard.edu. All scenarios assume that you already have an active O2 account.

- If you are changing Labs, you or your PI must contact rchelp@hms.harvard.edu to request a Slurm account change.
I am leaving an On-Quad Lab to join an Off-Quad Lab
If you are leaving an On-Quad Lab to join an Off-Quad Lab:
- Complete the steps outlined for Off-Quad Labs and other Harvard University schools.
- While completing these steps, contact rchelp@hms.harvard.edu and tell them that you have an existing O2 account and request that the Slurm account be changed to the new Lab.

I am a Harvard student continuing to work with an Off-Quad Lab
If you are a Harvard student leaving Harvard (for example, graduating) who worked for an Off-Quad Lab and wishes to continue to perform work for the same Off-Quad Lab, your PI must contact the RC Core team at rccore@hms.harvard.edu to confirm that you are eligible to maintain your current O2 account.
