You can store work-related data in your home folder. In your departmental folder, you can share data with members of your department.
You can access departmental folders remotely, through a VPN, or while on campus.
Note - If you are connecting to your home or departmental folder while off campus, you must first connect to VPN.
File server paths
- Home folder –
\\home.files.med.Harvard.edu\home - Shared departmental folder –
\\research.files.med.Harvard.edu\[your_department_path] - Shared collaboration folder –
\\commons.med.Harvard.edu\commons
To access these folders, follow these steps:
- From your computer's desktop, enter the path for a Home, Shared, or Collaboration file share as listed above.
- Select Enter.
- When prompted, log in using MED\YourEcommonsID and password.
- Select OK.
- Select Enter.
